Colors of the Symphony - Performance 2

All third grade students from Wayne, Union, Randolph, Henry and Fayette Counties are invited to attend a free symphony concert in Civic Hall Performing Arts Center. Before the concert, teachers receive a preparation guide, along with a CD of the music to be performed. The children learn about all sections of the orchestra and how they fit together to perform as a group. The orchestra performs excerpts from Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Copland’s Rodeo, and Mozart’s The Magic Flute, among others. The highlight of the concert is when two children have the opportunity to conduct the orchestra. This concert will be in its 14th year in 2012. There are 2 concerts: 9:00 and 10:30. Third grade teachers can call the RSO office to schedule their class.
