Family Concerts

These special concerts are designed to offer families the opportunity to experience a full orchestra concert in a kid-friendly format. The concert is scheduled on a Sunday afternoon and includes orchestral selections that tell a story and help open the doors to the wonder and enjoyment of fine music.

Previous concerts presented include The Snowman, My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss, and Mr. Smith’s Composition. The 2007 concert will be Peter and the Wolf, presented on March 11, 2007 and narrated by Dr. Doug Bennett, president of Earlham College. This story is loved by children and adults alike and is sure to be a favorite.

An “instrument petting zoo” held after the end of the concert offers an up-close and hands-on look at the orchestra.

Tickets are $7.00 for all seats.  Special pricing available for groups.

Individuals or businesses interested in sponsoring groups to attend the concert from Boys & Girls Club, Townsend Center, or other youth facilities are encouraged to contact the RSO offices for information.
